No-exam life insurance

Learn which applicants qualify for fast underwriting, the process if you do, and what happens if you don't.

Most carriers now have accelerated underwriting for qualifying applicants and amounts—they score your application, prescription records, driving history and other data instead of ordering an exam. Approvals can come within hours. Each quote here shows whether that product needs an exam, might need one, or won't.

What it changes

No exam doesn't mean no review of your application. Your answers get verified; policies based on false information can be rescinded within two years. The carrier may still request an exam or tests if its research surfaces questions—and you can decide whether to proceed.

Who tends to qualify

Usually for applicants under about 60 seeking standard amounts, with no significant health issues and no tobacco in the last 12+ months. Some carriers accept recent medical visits with lab work instead of an exam.

If an exam is required, it's typically 20–30 minutes with a paramedic at your home or office in the Citrus Heights area, at no charge. Good health can result in a better class, so an exam can be a benefit.
